Recommended Online Business Resources For You

I am often get asked what resources I use to run my online business and it’s time for me to share it here with you.

Websites

For domain name and hosting, I use and recommend hostgator  I’ve been with them for 10  years and haven’t had any issues. If you are going the DIY (do it yourself) route, it’s important to have an easy to navigate control panel where you can easily download wordpress.

WordPress Themes

I’ve used thesis—only because my programmer is the expert on this theme. There’s a bit of a learning curve, but if you are a DIY kind of person and want the easiest way to get started on your own, then I highly recommend Headway themes.

It’s the most straight forward, drag and drop theme for beginners.

Whether you plan to build your own website  or have someone do it for you, it’s better to equip yourself with the website building basics.  I’ve created a simple guide for youn that you can download for free. Download your Website Planning Guide here.

Online Business Resources for Online Marketing & Email Management

Madmimi: I’ve used them years ago but I felt, it’s not professional enough for my business.  However,  if you are in the craft or DIY business and you want something cute and easy, madmimi is for you.

Mailchimp:  I love the chimp. It’s a great email marketing service for starters when your list is under 2000 names.   Like any service, there’s a bit of a learning curve but if I can figure it out, so can you.  Many of my clients used it.

GetResponse: I’ve started using this platform recently to test out their autoresponder system and so far, I am liking it.  If you are a serious marketer and want something more robust, then GetResponse might just be what you need.

Creating Your Own Beautiful Graphics & Images

Picmonkey: I love love Picmonkey!  I’ve created banners and buttons for my website using baby monkey!

Canva: Another great photo editor with tons of templates to choose from.
